17. Hua Mui Kopitiam
Hua Mui is a kopitiam
located in Johor Bahru old street which has now introduced many branches across
Johor. The town is full of people and the kopitiam has the feeling of tradition
as the surroundings are full of old design and even the shops are very old.
This has brought us going to the past which is just nice to experience.
However, the only
thing which is complicated is the parking issues over the town because there
are not many parking slots provided. We have to park our car far away in order
to get to Hua Mui. It is highly recommended to advice people to take taxi, that
we so call ‘grab’, to there so that it is very convenient. There are also many
cultural foods sold along the streets. We were very lucky. Why? It is because when we walk into the kopitiam, there has no space for us to get a seat and just after a few seconds, some people left and we were able to get a seat.
Of course, we had ordered a plate of our favourite – kaya toast,
served with a cup of ‘cham’. The toast tastes good as they applied a thick
layer of butter with kaya which made it neither too sweet nor oily. The price
is also reasonable which only costs us RM 4.15.
So, do not hesitate
anymore! Visit the kopitiam and experience the old and traditional culture of
the town.

Even though this kopitiam is not so near to my house, but the traditional culture attracted me a lot. I have visited this place, as the blogger said, better take a grab or taxi to this place since the parking lot is very very limited. Even though it is located at the center of Johor Bahru, but I can still feel the traditional culture which is always seen at rural area, the toast also tastes very good. This blog is really helpful, will visit more cafe mentioned in this blog, thanks a lot!!!!!
