13. Restaurant Garden Heart

Restaurant Garden Heart is a food court style kopitiam that located in Taman Gaya. There are more than 10 stalls were operating in this restaurant during lunch time. We choose to visit this restaurant is because of friends' recommendation. One of our friends had told us that the kaya toast in Restaurant Garden Heart is delicious because the staff will use traditional method to toast.

For those who does not know Mandarin, can know what does the stall were selling through the photo provided at the signboard of the stall. 'Roti' is a Malay word, it means bread. The kaya toast we had ordered is 'Roti Kaya Planta' which is applying butter and kaya in the toast.

The toast was toasted with charcoals which is the traditional method to make toast. This is rare to be seen in kopitiam nowadays because hawker are using machine to toast breads as technology bring more convenience to them.

When we try the kaya toast, we felt the toast was so crunchy unlike some of the kaya toasts that are soft. However, the kaya flavour of the toast is not strong enough. We felt more butter taste rather than kaya scent. Even the kaya toast does not have sufficient kaya flavour, we are still recommending this to public because the price of the kaya toast is cheaper than average price while the bread is crunchy as well.
